The 29th anniversary of Patriarchal enthronement of His Holiness Ignatius Zakka I Iwas, the Patriarch of Antioch & all the East, Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church was held at Damascus, Syria on 14 September 2009.The thanksgiving Holy Qurbono and other services were held at the St. Peter & St. Paul Cathedral in the Mor Ephrem Monastery, Ma`arat Sayyidnaya, near Damascus. Mor Dionysius Behnan Jajawi (Damascus, Syria) and Mor Julius Abdulahad G Shabo (Archbishop of Sweden) were the chief celebrants and

were the co-celebrants of the Holy Qurbono.

Their Eminence Archbishop Joseph Absi Patriarchal Vicar of the Roman Catholic Church, Bishop Ghattas Hazim Patriarchal vicar of the Roman Orthodox Church, Archbishop Mar Gregorios Elias Bishop of Damascus Syrian Catholic Church, Bishop Oermash Damascus Bishop of the Armenian Orthodox Church, Archbishop Samir Nassar the Maronite Archbishop of Damascus and Rev. Peter Zaaour evangelical pastor in Damascus also attend the ceremony.

H.E Dr. Toufik Salloum and the minister of Dnho Dr. David, the priests, monks, nuns and students of the Faculty of Theology, and a large crowd of believers who came from the Patriarchate in Damascus and Malankara (India) and the members of the Milli Mejlis Ladies Charitable Society also attended the Holy Qurbono.

Moran reserved his time exclusively for meeting of priests and believers of a group of 60 who came from India to attend the celebrations. Guests took part in the banquet hosted by Moran.

Elias, the photographer from Puthencruz, India, presented His Holiness, an album of 6000 photos (approximately 27kg) in connection with His Holiness's India visits and other programs.
