St. Mary the Protectress Syriac Orthodox Community is located in Plymouth, Indiana. We are a monastic community and intentional Orthodox Christian community. We believe that you can pray to end hunger, but it is not a true prayer unless you also feed those who are hungry. We seek to live the example of Christ and serve all our neighbors. We are a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic worshiping community. Services are in English.

Proud Parent
I am the proud parent of one of the newest officers in in U.S. Navy. My daughter Alda is graduating from Navy Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island, this week. For those who were wondering why there were no service the latter part of this week and this Sunday, that is the reason.
I got to meet her Drill Sergeant this evening. In his talk to all the parents and spouses, he reminded everyone to remember that while the Navy owned these new officers, it was the Marines who trained them.
Please jpoin me in praying for all these new Naval officers and their families. And from one proud parent, here are some photographs from this evening.
