Worship the Lord Your God: Part One of Divine Liturgy discussion by Presbytera Irene Matta, Mth - God directed Moses to carefully prepare the Tabernacle and gave him and priesthood the order of their "liturgy". God is unchanging: He directs our worship in Spirit and in Truth, as the Lord with great care explained to His Apostles just how to live through His Passion and Resurrection through and in this Mystical Supper. The Supper is attended by every Orthodox Christian each time the Eucharist is celebrated, since it is a Heavenly banquet uniting earth and Heaven in Christ by the Holy Spirit. It prefigures the Wedding Banquet of the Lamb of God with His Bride - bought with a great Price - defeating Death in us by resurrection our bodies by the power of His Divine-Human natures.
St. Mary the Protectress Syriac Orthodox Community is located in Plymouth, Indiana. We are a monastic community and intentional Orthodox Christian community. We believe that you can pray to end hunger, but it is not a true prayer unless you also feed those who are hungry. We seek to live the example of Christ and serve all our neighbors. We are a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic worshiping community. Services are in English.
