On the Sixth Sunday of Great Lent, the Syriac Orthodox church commemorates Jesus healing a blind man on Sabbath by applying clay on his eyes and asking him to wash his eyes in the pool of Siloam. In this Gospel passage, Jesus tells us, "I am the light of the world". In this passage we also see the Blind Man professing his faith. He tells Jesus, "Lord I believe." . He proclaims to the Pharisees, "I was blind, but now I see". Let us also use this day to renew our faith and confess our faith "Lord I believe" and let us proclaim to the world, "I was spiritually blind, but now I see."
